New European border control system
publish the :The new European border control system (EES – Entry/Exit System) is gradually being rolled out.
At Perpignan Airport, it will come into effect on 10 December 2025.
What is the EES?
The EES is an IT system introduced by the European Union to record the entry and exit of non-EU travellers (third-country nationals) when crossing the EU’s external borders.
❌ Exemptions apply to: EU/EEA/Swiss citizens, nationals of Andorra and Monaco, holders of long-stay visas (type D), family members holding a residence card, as well as pilots and crew members. If you fall under one of these categories, please ensure you carry the relevant document with you when crossing the border.
✈️ To ensure a smooth journey from Perpignan Airport, we recommend arriving 2 hours before your flight, as border control processing times may take longer.
ℹ️ Please note: occasional tests may take place before 10 December to prepare for this implementation.
