Children aged four to eleven years may travel alone and will be considered Unaccompanied Minors (UM). The child must be checked in by a parent. He or she will be given a special UM pouch containing their plane ticket, identification, parental permission as well as an identification card with the name and address of the person responsible for picking them up at the destination airport. This pouch must remain with the child for the entire trip. The person meeting the child at the destination must present a piece of identification. In order to guarantee the child’s safety and comfort, he/she will be assisted and accompanied by a crew member during boarding, flight and disembarking.
Travel of minors
As of 15 January 2017, a minor child who lives in France and travels abroad alone or without his or her parents must have an exit permit. It is a form established and signed by a parent (or legal guardian). The form must be accompanied by a photocopy of an identity document from the signing parent.
