Pyrénées Orientales
A land of varied landscapes...
Located between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, south of the Languedoc-Roussillon, the Pyrénées-Orientales boasts an exceptional annual sunshine of over 300 days. A land blessed by the Gods...
The Mediterranean...Its long sandy beaches, its intimate rocky coves, its lively fishing and yachting port...

Here and there, one can see a succession of vineyards, olive orchards and fabulous gardens.
A generous land, filled with fruits (apricots, plums, peaches), vegetables (artichokes, onions, basil, tomatoes), wine (Banyuls, Maury, Muscat de Rivesaltes, Côtes du Roussillon) and thousands of other riches that make life sweeter, more colourful than anywhere else...
These numerous productions allow this part of France to retain a significant culinary tradition (a sweet and savoury mixture, with spices, nuts, cinnamon, anise ...)
A cultural heritage, a “gigantic museum”: Medieval castles, royal fortifications (by architect Vauban) listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, abbeys, churches and priories ... Romanesque, Baroque and Gothic arts ... It is truly a land steeped in history.
A strong cultural diversity:
French since 1659, this destination has retained a strong identity (the Catalan, a language spoken in Catalonia, in north-eastern Spain), traditions (Holy Week and Easter, the feast of St. John on 23rd June, Sardane dances, rugby ....)
And watching over all these treasures, visible from everywhere, is the lofty and snow-capped Mont Canigou.
